At three in the morning on February 3rd, brothers Alex Belisle, Scott Brown, Wes Armstrong, Nick Kostovny, Brandon Boehnke, and Cooper Henson began their journey to a weekend in Portland to attend this years Regional Leadership Academy. Driving through the night and stopping only for a quick hike and a necessary group photo at Multnomah Falls, our brothers arrived in Portland ready to immerse themselves in Delta Upsilon leadership strategies and Voodoo Doughnuts. After a quick night of introductions and outlining the general schedule of the day ahead, they rose bright and early Saturday morning to start the training. Nick Kostovny and Cooper Henson attended the all-day Recruitment Track taught by Kyle Martin in order to gain insight into allowing the Boise State Chapter to continue its growth, and learned valuable lessons in identifying the merits of a brother of Delta Upsilon and how these characteristics can be brought out of potential members. Brothers Scott Brown, Brandon Boehnke, and Wes Armstrong covered all other bases by attending a multitude of seminars, including GSI Education, Standards and Accountability, Developing New Leaders, and Mentoring the New Generation, to name just a few. To finish off the main day of programming at RLA, our brothers reconvened and drafted a plan to increase our recruitment potential as a chapter, presenting it to the other chapters in attendance Sunday morning and receiving advice on how to maximize effective recruitment. With RLA wrapping up, they began their journey home with the intention of spreading this knowledge, and the hope of not missing the Superbowl.
